Today's topic: Piriform
If you were ever looking for some good PC maintenance software that could solve most everyday problems that users face, look no further than Piriform. Piriform is an amazing software developer, in which I've been using a host of their programs for years. Even better is the fact that they offer fully functional "free" versions of their software. However, if you really appreciate any of their programs and wanted even greater functionality, you could always upgrade and purchase the professional versions later. To be honest, of all the software I have tried from Piriform, I haven't found one yet that I haven't liked or thought was freaking amazing. Here are three (3) must have Piriform pieces of software:
1) CCleaner: What can I say other than this is the best piece of PC maintenance software I have ever had the privilege of using. Its clears all your temporary user files, caches, logs, and other useless junk in a blink of an eye. It also has the ability to clean your registry, uninstall unwanted software, and edit your startup programs. Consider it a car wash and a oil change for your computer. Fast, thorough, and convenient. I couldn't ask for more.
2) Defraggler: Better and faster than your native Windows defrag could ever be. If your PC has a conventional hard drive you must defragment your hard drive every couple of months or suffer reduced overall performance and hard drive reliability (solid state hard drives do not need to be and should NEVER be defragmented) . Depending on how fragmented your hard drive is, running defrag can also significantly speed up your computer's performance. As for defraggler as a program it is relatively easy to use, fast, and works wonderfully well.
3) Recuva: Ever accidentally erase something that your absolutely need back? Yup, this program does that. It even works on digital camera cards. Even the base functionality of this software you would typically have to pay $50 with other software. Not with Piriform :)
